GEHA Selected as Carrier to Offer New Nationwide Benefits Plan to FEHB Program Members


SUMMIT OF LEE, Mo., August 8, 2019 / PRNewswire / – GEHA (Government Employees Health Association) announced today its selection by the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM) as the exclusive carrier of two new Federal Employee Health Benefit Plans (FEHB) under the Compensation Plan Contract (IBP). After a competitive process, GEHA was chosen based on its ability to offer significantly different benefit options to federal employees.

“The Elevate plans are uniquely designed to help members achieve the health they need to live the lives they want,” said Darren taylor, Chairman and CEO of GEHA. “We are delighted to enhance our collaboration with OPM and to continue to partner with our federal employee members as part of their health and wellness journey. ”

Starting in plan year 2020, these new benefit plans will be offered to federal employees during the annual benefit selection process in the fall of this year. GEHA is working with OPM to present the plans and inform federal employees of their new options.

“GEHA will fill a 30-year vacancy in the FEHB program and increase the availability of health plan offerings nationwide for federal employees and annuitants,” said Edward M.
